Circularity and Resource Efficiency of Food Systems Conference
This conference will take place under the Romanian Presidency of the European Council on the 22nd of May 2019. Its main aim is to raise awareness and strengthen international collaboration on sustainable production, consumption and food waste. Also environmentally-friendly approaches to transformation of agri-food by-products and residues into new raw materials for different purposes is a focus point. Participants will be high-level policy makers, researchers and other food chain stakeholders from Romania and other European countries. The Conference is accompanied by two international side events. The Policy Lab workshop of Fit4Food2030 will be held on the 21st of May, and the Governing Board Meeting of the Joint Programming Initiative on Food, Agriculture and Climate Change will be held the 23rd and 24th (FACCE-JPI Governing Board members only). The conference is organised by the National Institute of Research and Development for Food Bioresources – IBA Bucharest, with support of the Ministry of Research and Innovation, the Executive Unit for Financing Higher Education, Research, Development and Innovation, the University of Agronomic Sciences and Veterinary Medicine of Bucharest and The Academy for Agriculture and Forestry Sciences “Gheorghe Ionescu-Șișești”.
