ERA4CS officially launched at the kick-off meeting in Paris
The ERA4CS kick-off meeting and first General Assembly took place in Paris on 19-21 January 2016 and was organised by ANR (French Research Agency), and Chaired by Patrick Monfray, the project coordinator.
The ERA-NET Consortium “European Research Network for Climate Services” (ERA4CS), under the umbrella of JPI Climate, has been designed to boost the development of efficient Climate Services in Europe. ERA4CS officially started on the 1st of January 2016 and this kick-off meeting served as the first General Assembly of the consortium to meet personally the partners participating (more than 40) and to discuss the scope of the call, the communication strategy and additional activities of the project. Over 60 people representing European funding and research performing institutions attended the three days meeting; members of the designated Advisory Board were also present. So far 16 countries are taking part in the ERA4CS consortium with 13 funding and 28 performing organisations. The meeting also laid the ground for further partners which will have to be decided by the General Assembly before the launch of the call, foreseen for the beginning of March.
First activities of ERA4CS start with the launch of a large scale Joint Transnational Call for research proposals with cash and institutional funding from at least 16 countries and co-fund support of the European Commission (under Grant Agreement reference 690462).
