FACCE-JPI welcomes five new members to the Scientific Advisory Board
The GB of FACCE-JPI has appointed five new members to the FACCE-JPI Scientific Advisory Board: Claire Chenu (Agro Paris Tech), Johanna Buchert and Kari Saikkonen (Natural Resources Institute Finland), Mette Termansen (Aarhus University) and Sonja Vermeulen (CGIAR/CCAFS). The Chair of the Governing Board, Mr Niels Gøtke, expressed his confidence in their expertise and added that the new members will be strength for the board. The Scientific Advisory Board now convenes 14 multidisciplinary, influential scientific experts across the broad remit of FACCE-JPI.
The FACCE-JPI Scientific Advisory Board (SAB), currently chaired by Professor Maggie Gill, actively engages with FACCE-JPI by giving advice on scientific matters and shaping the scope of FACCE-JPI actions to address the grand challenges of jointly ensuring food security, adaptation to climate change impacts and mitigation of greenhouse gases emissions. Its members act as ambassadors, representing FACCE-JPI at national and international platforms. The SAB also has a key role in the communication and interactions with the research community and, when appropriate in seeking their input to achieve FACCE-JPI objectives.
