PLATFORM Report for practicioners of ERA-NET Cofund calls

The PLATFORM for bioeconomy ERA-NET Actions organised a two-day mutual learning event for coordinators of ERA-NET Cofund calls, taking into account the first experiences so far, as well as experience from ERA-NET Plus calls. Call and project managers from within and beyond the bioeconomy areas shared their experiences on managing ERA-nets, with specific focus on the projects where the European Commission adds funds for research, e.g. CORE Organic Plus, FACCE SURPLUS, ERA-GAS, BESTF, Cofund on Biomarkers, and ERA4CS.

The report, now available on capitalizes on the information shared and the knowledge gained. PLATFORM project coordinator Christine Bunthof from Wageningen UR co-chaired the meeting with project task leader for master classes Ulla Sonne Bertelsen, who also presented the experiences from CORE Organic on how the ERA-net is successful in optimising the use of national funds and raise the level of scientific excellence across countries. Some other learning topics covered how ERA-Nets can focus on innovation, multi-ERA-net calls and how to manage institutional funds. There was also time to look into the Framework Partnership Agreement and Specific Grant Agreement – the new instruments proposed in the Work Programme for next year. All the participants learned important tips and tricks for their current or future work.
This Masterclass took place at DG Research & Innovation, Brussels on Thursday 25 and Friday 26 June 2015.
