Workshop

Workshop linking nutrition and Covid-19

Organised by JPI HDHL
Date

Wed 17 June 2020

The Joint Programming Initiative ‘a Healthy Diet for a Healthy Life’ organises an online workshop on the links between nutrition and Covid-19, and the societal challenges in the JPI’s domain, on June 17th. The workshop will address the impact of Covid-19 measures on dietary behaviour and physical activity as well as on the clinical aspects, where we see a clear and concerning link between obesity (and diet-related disease) and the disease course of the Covid-19 infection. From both these angles, the relevance of finished and ongoing research funded by JPI HDHL will be highlighted, and key priorities for new research will be identified. The outcomes are meant to support policy makers, public and private funders and partnerships with future research investments. The workshop will be facilitated by Edith Feskens, professor in global nutrition at Wageningen University & Researc and chair of the JPI HDHL Scientific Advisory Board. Christophe Matthys, associate professor in the nutrition and obesity unit of the University of Leuven, and Emely de Vet, professor in consumption and healthy lifestyles Wageningen University & Research, will provide plenary presentations. This will be followed by a panel discussion. If you want to participate to the workshop, you can register until June 16th.

More information and the registration link can be found on the JPI HDHL website.
