AGROECOLOGY Partnership launces first call

AGROECOLOGY is an ambitious, large-scale European research and innovation endeavour between the EC and 26 Member States (MS), Associated Countries (AC) and Third Countries. AGROECOLOGY will support an agriculture sector that is fit to meet the targets and challenges of climate change, biodiversity loss, food security and sovereignty, and the environment, while ensuring a profitable and attractive activity for farmers. The Partnership in particular pools the resources of the EC and the states involved to fund high-level research generating appropriate knowledge and technologies aligned with the core themes described in the Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda.

The first co-funded call under AGROECOLOGY, “Fostering agroecology at farm and landscape levels”, was launched on the 15.02.2024. All information on the call including all call documents as well as a partnering tool can be found on the submission website:

The objective of this call is to fund transdisciplinary research and innovation projects addressing the agroecology transition of both conventional and organic farming systems. Projects are expected to study and implement agroecology at two geographic scales:

Theme 1 – at the farm level and its immediate surroundings

Theme 2 – at the landscape or territorial level

The call is supported by 35 funders from 22 countries and has a budget of 31.5 M€.

The deadline for pre-proposals is 2024 April 26, 14:00h CEST. The deadline for full proposal submission is 2024 September 19, 14:00h CEST.
